Therapeutic botox comes in a similar vial as the cosmetic version minus the word "Cosmetic", and carries a different DIN (Drug Identification Number).

Of more importance to you, is the fact that most insurance companies will reimburse you for Therapeutic Botox.  The cost on the therapeutic version is $15/unit and insurance companies will cover the following treatments with it:

1. Cervical Dystonia and neck pain.

2. Migraines

3. Eyelid Ticks  (Blepharospasm)

4. Excessive Underarm sweating (hyperhydrosis)

You must have a diagnosis for the above to classify with the insurance company.  Dr. Esmond will assess you on your appointment day.  Bring any pain or migraine medications you may have.   Dr. Esmond provides the patient with a letter stating the diagnosis, past treatments and how much botox is needed including the price.  There are no extra charges for the Letter or any insurance papers you need filled.

The treatment can be given the same day of the consultation.  The patient pays Dr. Esmond directly, and then you submit the Letter, the therapeutic botox receipt, and any insurance forms yourself to get your reimbursement.  It is the patients responsibility to check beforehand that their insurance will pay for the therapeutic botox.
